Last month I had the honor of presenting at the
Sarasota International Design Summit in Florida. The host was the
Ringling School of Art & Design with
Fast Company as the primary media sponsor. There, I was brought together by FC's
Linda Tischler with a long lost relative (at least lexically speaking) named
Ambra Medda.
Besides having a last name similar to my own, Medda is the Director of
Design Miami -- a fresh and unique forum for exotic experiments in design. Linda was to moderate our discussion, but due to unforeseen circumstances the able
Peter Kageyama moderated our discussion on
simplicity and design. Given Medda's precise vision on the relationship between design, culture, and business, my takeaway from the event was that
Design Miami's the place to go next year.
