I just recently experience exactly what that saying means…
A friend and I went to lunch and she had sewn herself a new wardrobe of basic tops and slacks and a jacket — she was 86 - she said she hesitated to make herself so many new clothes because when you get to be 86 you probably don’t have time to wear out the clothes, but then she said it is nice to wear new things even it it is only one time — she died about a week after we had lunch, in a car accident…
Yes we definately meet to depart…
Thank you for the lovely thought Susan. Nice to depart you. Regards, John
Nice how our interactions with people can be abstracted in such a simple way. It’s reassuring that even the most complex of relationships follow this simple saying.
In Tamil, we normally say “We depart to meet again” which sounds more optimistic.
