I hope you’ll have similar luck with the new adapter. It’s slick.

Agreed that ‘reduce’ lessens your baggage here but doesn’t it increase your ‘time’ to find a nice spot to lay your laptop and ipod?

haha:) thanx..

As most of the usb ports are awkwardly placed and your ipod is left to dangle with the shorted ipod usb connector, which is not good user experience if you want to sync screen of the ipod.

With the lengthier ipod usb cable you have the freedom to place ipod where ever you like. Isn't?

I'm glad it's not just me that has a penchant for luggage reduction. I looked up Tom's intelligent stick and it is quite elegant. Thank you for the great pointers Harry and Tom.

I, too, am always looking to reduce what I carry. I own a couple of USB drives, but the one that I carry with me is the tiny PQI Intelligent Stick, which fits, unnoticable, in my shirt pocket.

Three years on and I haven't lost it (yet). I find that I obsess a little more about where it is--similar to checking for my keys and wallet--but it's well worth the convenience.

I hope you'll have similar luck with the new adapter. It's slick.

This is so true. I have the same feeling about a small auto fold able utp cable (similar to this one http://www.infomicro.ca/image/CBL.USBAMBM-R.jpg), which is very compact, but I earlier intend to loose it opposed to a original 1 meter long cable.

I like the design of the adapter on the right though, the way it holds the Ipod in an up position aside to the laptop.
