If you are ever in Los Angeles and are looking for an omakase experience as I mention in LOS, I suggest you visit Sasabune’s in Los Angeles. Just say how much you have in your pocket, and the rest is left up to the Master. Trust me!

  1. Even though I unfortunately can’t see myself going to Los Angeles in quite a while (I’m from the UK), this does remind me how much I enjoyed reading the part of your book where you talk about Sushi Masters! Very interesting indeed :-)

  2. Michael, Thanks. I do hope you get to LA some day. It was quite a treat. Best, John

  3. I haven’t been to Sasabune since they moved it from their sparse room on Sawtelle. Glad to hear they are keeping the quality up. Be careful not to let them see you send anything back…

  4. Ben, Yes I remember when it was in the hole in the wall in Sawtelle as well. That was SO different than what he has now. Regards, John

  5. wonderful

  6. If you ever make it to Santa Monica, one of the most spectacular omakase experiences I’ve had is at The Hump, out by Santa Monica airport. They flew in a giant crab once, which the sushi chefs took great delight in showing us (it looked rather angry!) before taking it to be despatched. :-)

  7. Hi,
I am reading your book titled “The laws of simplicity” and I am really surprized to see that how much alike we think when it comes to the concept of simplicity. I have wriiten an article on Simplicity a while back and its published on my website. You will definitely like this article as it totally echoes with what you have been trying to say through your website and your book.
    Thanks
    Sachin
